Welcome
The Research Centre for Integrated Microsystems [RCIM] is located within the
Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering in the Faculty of Engineering
at the University of Windsor.
The RCIM group is focused on carrying out leading edge research, developing
collaborative partnerships and educating highly qualified graduate students in
the areas of Microelectronics and Microeletromechanical systems [MEMS].
Research Areas
- Microelectronics, including the design of custom analog and digital integrated circuits for:
- Microsystem IP Core Design and Implementation
- System-On-Chip Designs and Embedded Systems
- Computer Arithmetic (DBNS/MDLNS)
- Digital Signal Processing for Hearing Aids
- High Resolution Analog-to-Digital Conversion
- Digital Filters
- Microelectromechanical systems
(MEMS), including:
- Acousto-Magnetic Transducers
- Capacitive Microphones and Acoustic Sensor Arrays
- Sensors and Filters
- Optical Switching MEMS
The projects vary from fundamental pre-competitive research to mission oriented research and technology transfer. There is an emphasis on problems requiring signal processing systems implemented with advanced
integrated microsystems.
